Chofu Citizens’ Kabuki Performance in March

A long-standing citizens’ group,Chofu Shimin Kabuki troop, will make an annual March performance on Sunday March 18. Pre-performance backstage tour is expected to be offered beforehand, too.

The group of about 20 members—from teenagers to those in their 70s— learn Kabuki, Japan’s traditional theatrical performance with a professional Kabuki Actor Baika Nakamura at weekly lessons.

This time, they will performance an act each from tales of “Chujo Himekoseki no Matsu” of the18th century and of “Mekura Nagoya Umega Kagatobi” of the 19th century.
